Let your energy work at the moment it pays off most
Your solar panels often generate energy when you don't need it yourself. Meanwhile, later in the day, you buy back more expensive electricity. With a smartly controlled home battery, you store your own energy, buy electricity at favourable moments and use it when electricity is expensive.
Calculate your personal savings potential on the influenceable part of your electricity costs.
The actual savings depend on your consumption, solar panels, export, energy contract, energy prices, chosen system and settings.
Where does your generated energy go?
Real-time power in kW, stored amounts in kWh. Illustrative example of a home with solar panels.
Without a smart home battery
- Solar panels mostly produce during the day, when usage is low.
- A large share of the surplus goes to the grid.
- The feed-in reimbursement can be limited and feed-in costs may apply.
- In the evening, electricity is bought from the grid again.
- There is little to no automatic control.
With Horst Energy's smart energy solution
- Solar power first feeds the home, then the battery.
- At low or negative prices, the battery can charge cheaply from the grid.
- At high prices, expensive grid imports are limited.
- An EV charger charges on available solar surplus or favourable hours.
- The energy management system automatically picks the right moment.
The difference isn't only in the battery, but in the control
A home battery without good analysis and configuration is just storage. Real value is created when generation, consumption, electricity prices, charge point and battery work together as a single system. That's why Horst Energy Solutions looks beyond just the number of kWh.
1. Measure
We map out consumption, export and peak moments.
2. Calculate
We determine which capacity and power suit your situation.
3. Select
We compare several systems and don't automatically advise one fixed brand.
4. Install
We carry out the electrical installation and any required changes to the distribution board.
5. Optimise
We configure the energy control and check that the system works logically.
Calculate your personal savings potential
Transparent and verifiable: you can see which rates and assumptions we use and which part of your energy bill is and isn't influenceable.
Your details
The more accurate your input, the more realistic the outcome. You'll usually find these figures on your annual statement.
Total consumption plus self-use of solar power.
Enter 0 if you don't yet have solar panels.
The share of your generation you don't use yourself.
For reference. Savings are calculated on the part you can influence, not on fixed charges.

From 2027, your own solar power becomes even more valuable
The net metering scheme ends on 1 January 2027. This means generated electricity can no longer be offset annually against electricity taken from the grid. It will therefore become more important to use as much of your own solar energy directly, or store it temporarily.

Why Horst Energy Solutions?
Just buying a battery
- Capacity possibly not well matched
- Limited attention to the existing installation
- Default settings
- No full energy analysis
- Possible unused savings potential
The complete Horst Energy approach
- Analysis of consumption and solar production
- Suitable battery capacity
- Check of the distribution board and connection
- Integration with solar panels and charge point
- Configuration of smart energy control
- Explanation and commissioning
- One technical point of contact
Not every home needs the same battery
We deliberately don't quote a fixed capacity without a calculation. The calculator determines the indicative storage need based on your own figures.
Profile 1 – Compact household
- Limited evening consumption
- Smaller solar installation
- Indicative storage: to be determined from the calculator
Profile 2 – Family with solar panels
- Higher daily consumption
- More solar surplus
- Possibly an electric car
- Indicative storage: to be determined from the calculator
Profile 3 – All-electric home
- Heat pump
- Electric car
- Large solar installation
- Higher peak power
- Indicative storage: to be determined from the calculator
Real installations, real results
We only show projects that have actually been carried out, photos for which permission has been given, and anonymised data.
We'll soon share the first verified practical results here. In the meantime, take a look at our completed projects.
