Home batteries

How many kWh of home battery suits my house?

The right capacity depends on your consumption, your solar generation and whether you have a dynamic energy contract. Here's how to reason from usage to capacity.

There is no standard size. The right capacity follows from your annual consumption, your usage pattern over the day, the output of any solar panels, and the goal you have in mind.

What we look at

During an advisory conversation, we cover at least these points:

  • Annual electricity consumption in kWh
  • Daytime versus evening consumption
  • Installed PV power and annual yield
  • Whether or not you have a dynamic energy contract
  • Single-phase or three-phase connection and available space in the consumer unit
  • Whether you also charge an EV or have a heat pump

Bigger is not automatically better

A battery you never fully use delivers little extra benefit. We'd rather advise a system that matches your actual pattern and can be expanded later if needed.
