Home batteries

Can a home battery work without solar panels?

Technically, yes. Whether it's worthwhile depends mainly on your energy contract and your usage pattern.

A home battery can also be installed without solar panels. The system then charges when electricity is cheap and supplies energy when electricity is more expensive.

This only works if your contract has price differences, for example a dynamic contract with hourly prices. Without a price difference, the financial effect is limited.

What we check

Even without PV, the installation still needs to be right: enough space in the consumer unit, a suitable location, correct protection and accurate metering.
