What we look at for a charge point at home
We start with your connection: single-phase or three-phase, the rating of the main fuse and the space in the consumer unit. Then we look at the desired location of the charge point and the cable route. That route often determines a large part of the work.
Smart charging
With load balancing, the charge point adjusts the charging power to household consumption. This means you charge as fast as possible without tripping the main fuse. If you have solar panels, a suitable charge point can use the surplus to charge.
Ready for expansion
Considering a home battery, a heat pump or a second car later? We take that into account in the design, for example with cable thickness and the layout of the consumer unit. That avoids duplicate work.
