Consumer unit replacement or extension

The consumer unit is the heart of your installation. We replace and extend consumer units and distribution boards — and prepare them for what's still to come.

  • Extra circuits, cooking circuits and power circuits
  • Correct residual-current protection
  • Preparation for a charge point, home battery and three-phase power

When is replacement wise?

Reasons include: insufficient or missing residual-current protection, a full board, outdated components, recurring faults or an expansion of the installation. A renovation is also a logical moment.

Extending where possible

If the existing board is in good condition, an extension with extra circuits or an additional board is often enough. This is less invasive and cheaper. We first look at what's already there and advise afterwards.

Preparing for charging and storage

A charge point and a home battery each require their own protected circuit, and the cabling must match the power involved. By getting this right in one go, you avoid the board needing to be redone again within a year.

Tidy work, safe completion

We wire the board neatly, label circuits clearly and test the installation before handover. Afterwards you know exactly what's located where.
